Black Food Sovereignty Coalition

Yellow Emperor continually looks for ways to support the community around us. We found a great way to do that with the Black Food Sovereignty Coalition. Though they are based in Portland, they work with and connect farmers throughout the Pacific Northwest. Their biggest event is the Back to the Root conference, held annually at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR.We all rely on farms for the food we eat. Even so, our clients rely on farms to grow the ingredients used in their formulations. This is why it is also important to us that the Black Food Sovereignty Coalition also promotes regenerative farming practices with its membership. In fact, in fall of 2020, they are launching a BIPOC Food Systems Leadership Fellowship that will focus on soil regeneration, habitat restoration, and green infrastructure.
