Where can I go to learn more about liquid dietary supplement regulations or learn about issues facing the natural products industry?
To anyone new to natural products industry, specifically the dietary supplement segment, we recommending checking out the following resources:
- American Herbal Products Association – Their member directory contains hundreds of companies that provide various services and products to the industry. They also have extensive guidance documents on pertinent industry topics ranging from regulations to botanical identification to sustainability.
- Natural Products Association – This is an advocacy group for the industry. They are a great resource to find out what you can do to advocate for natural products.
- National Animal Supplement Council – Supplements for animals are not regulated by the government, therefore the industry is self-regulated. The National Animal Supplement Council is a trade association that is dedicated to enhancing the animal supplement industry.
- American Botanical Council – If you are into herbal knowledge and want to know more about what is being studied – or adulterated – the ABC is a great resource.
- Sustainable Herbs Program– This program is an offshoot of ABC and looks at the issue of sustainability as it relates to our industry.
