Trends from the NASC Annual Conference 2022
When we go to conferences, we take notes on consumer trends on behalf of our customers. So, if you sell pet products, some of these takeaways will be of high interest to you. However, even if your products aren’t for pets, human trends have a strong influence on their pet counterparts.
As Humans go, so do pets
Similar to how there was a boost in dietary supplement use during by people the pandemic, there was a boom in the use of pet supplements as well. In fact, it boomed in similar areas as well. Both humans and pets increased their intake of supplements that promote joint health, healthy aging, and address symptoms of anxiety. The increased interest in immune, sleep, and digestive supplement for humans has also mirrored a similar bump in the pet market.
More pets, more resilient market
With the increase in pet ownership, there is increase security of the pet supplement market. In fact, most pet owners start supplementing their pet’s diet when their pets are 1-2 years old. In addition, despite the predicted “soft economy” or market depression, pet owners are willing to spend more on their pet supplements over supplements for themselves. All of the pets that were purchased during the pandemic are aging and owners of all generations are purchasing supplements. The market is even interesting to investors which have been injecting the market with money significantly. As they say, there are more pets, every day.
