Yellow Emperor Carbon Offsets
Greenpower Extension
In 2020, Yellow Emperor expanded its footprint with an additional location. Since our original location was opted into the Greenpower Program with EWEB, we added our new location to the program as well. As before, our commitment supports the Greenpower program’s local solar energy programs and other offset projects.
NW Naturals Smart Energy Circle Program
Similarly, Yellow Emperor has opted in on the Smart Energy Carbon Offset Program that our natural gas provider, NW Natural, offers to their customers. As with the Greenpower Program, the Smart Energy Program supports carbon offset projects.
Each month, Yellow Emperor pays an addition fee to NW Naturals. Specifically, the fee is based on our energy use. In fact, the money supports projects like turning dairy farm waste into renewable energy in the Pacific Northwest and California.
